Touch!

Touch was very tiring and challenging. The boys managed to come 5th overall. We scored around 28 tries total. Playing with a cast was still hard but i manged to score 4 tries. Shout out to Mrs Fonua, Miss Tuia, and Mr Numz for coaching, supporting, and for the frozen after the game!

Room 12 just got back from watching the Manaiakalani films at Sylvia Park. We just decided to take a mean as photo under the means as tree!

CHOCOLATE - Our TIKA film

Liston, Jordan, Zach, Julius and I made a TIKA film named CHOCOLATE. Our film is about making the right choices about what we eat. Big shout to Mrs Fonua and Miss Shannon for videoing our film.

FIRE & ACE!

Room 12 made a masterpiece of art about Fire & Ace. We write our goals in the center then colored in the rest.

African Mint Crisp Tart

Room 12 worked hard to create our cultural dish called African Mint Crisp Tart.

Maritime Museum

Maritime Museum was fantastic because we had Miss Siale as our parent, and we also got to view sculptures of mysterious, and fragile statues. We also got ride on a crew ship on the fresh sea.

LEARNING IS FUN =)

Room 12 love making learning fun and working with friends. We never get bored of doing work or learning.

Always include these things in your writings

• Language Features such as similes, metaphors, alliteration, hyperbole, onomatopoeia, personification and lots more.
• 5 senses - smell, taste, heard, touch, and feel.
• Add adverbs to verbs
• Add adjectives to nouns

Zumba! Room 12

Room 12 really enjoy zumba for one of our brain breaks. It's very entertaining and amusing.

FRACTIONS! DECIMALS! PERCENTAGES!

I've been learning a lot of strategies to get the answer for these questions. My focus for math is to master decimals, fractions, and percentages. I'm also trying to reach 100% in my basic facts test.

We designed our own matariki laterns to celebrate the 7 stars.

Math Week!

We have been doing math nearly 3 times a day because It's math week! We had to do 2 work sheets with a group. Some of the question were really challenging and hard. We also start our days of with a math kahoot or math warm up:D

Quick Write :D

Here is another quick write that I've done in term 3. My background is my setting, and what I'm writing about. I'm very creative with my writing and I also have to use the 4 best tips my teacher has given us.

Shots and Angles :D

Room 12 had to take a picture of us in a close up shot, long shot, over the shoulder shot, establishing shot, two shot, and mid shot. This is the type of angles/shots we're gonna use in our films.

KIA O RAHI !

Room 12 had lots of joy playing Kia o Rahi with Coach Piuti. We also watched a video of the legend behind Kia o Rahi. It also helps with the fitness for cross country :)

Unimaginable

This piece of writing was my first story to write in 2018. We were given a photo to write an interesting story about. We also had to draw a picture to go with our story. This was one of my best quick writes and best pictures in my life.

Typing Test! Term 3

In room 12 we have typing tests to improve the speed of our typing. We have been doing this since the start of term 1, 2018. I've improved my speed by far from the last few terms and I also recommend students to use Typing Test to improve their typing too. It's also cool to see who gets the highest score between your friends and yourself.

ICE BREAKER!

Room 12 had an ice breaker to start off the first day of term 3. We had to find 3 to 4 objects (using our creativity) that are similar to ourselves. eg This cone is red just like my favourite colour. It was an enjoyful and funny experience for Room 12.

DOGO NEWS!

Dogo News gives people stunning and interesting information of what's happening around the world. It also shares fun pictures and videos. There are also themes like sports, fun,environment and more.

Math Playground!

This math site has heaps of enjoyment, amazing math games grades 1 to 6. Your unlikely to be bored when your on Math Playground. Room 12 loves to use this as one of our activities for when we've done our math tasks, there are others like Prodigy but I'd recommend this instead because it brings fun and education at the same time. :)

Boggle

In room 12 we have different kinds of warm ups for writing. One of our favorite warm ups is boggle. We only have 9 letters to create as many words as we can. This warm up is also fantastic and fun ;)

Polar Bears

Room 12 watched an educational video about arctic animals. We had to choose one animal that's from Antarctica and research facts about them. We made everything on a site called Mind Masters.

Speed 'n' Skills

For math we start off with a warm up to get our brains pumped for our math activities. This math site is called Speed Skills. It times how many questions you can complete in a minute, it also helps you with your speed. 

Prodigy!

Prodigy is a fun math game that I'm sure every kid or parent likes to play. It teaches you a lot of strategies and also makes the learning really fun. You can battle creatures, friends and other random people. Winning your battles will give you coins, wooden things, different kinds of Armour/potions and chests. You can catch creatures and buy your own pets too. Leveling up will give you new spells and more health. This game has a lot of enjoyment/learning and will make you wanna do more maths:).

FIRE! ACE!

F.I.R.E and A.C.E has meant a lot to room 12 so we had an idea of getting in to groups of four and creating our own poem, song or rap about F.I.R.E and A.C.E. Each group was given one letter from F.I.R.E or A.C.E to. Miss Siale let us choose anything we would like to sing but the topic had to be about the word we were given. Room 12 thought it was an amazing experience and it was really FUN.

This Is Me!

Malo e lelei my name is Siaosi. I'm in room 12 with my awesome teacher Miss Siale. My dream jobs is to become a pro rugby player, be a minister for my church or especially become an engineer. I love playing sports such as rugby,  athletics and basketball. My favourite food and drink is  KFC and mango otai, I'm also from Kolovai a village from Tonga. Red is my favourite colour and gold is my least favourite colour. My goals for GTS school is to become a school leader by leading by example. I can't wait until I improve my skills in learning and sports in the year 2018. MATE MA'A TONGA!!!                     

Get Your Fingers Moving!

In room 12 we have a typing test everyday as our warm up for writing. The students who get the 1st best, 2nd best and 3rd best score get points for their own group, and as you can see I suck at this. Typing test is the best!!! :) :) :)

TONGA!!!

In room 12 we created our own shirts about ourselves. We first drew the shape of our shirts, then we drew or created the things we like. Secondly, we added color and extra detail. Lastly, we cut our master piece and glued it onto a large piece of black paper and then decorated the black paper around the shirt. It was so fun to use our creativity and create a shirt about us, and as you can see I'm a big fan of Tonga and also MMT!!!

Solid Sport :D

In Room 12 we got to experience the awesome sport baseball. We started of with some basic throwing and catching skills then started to challenge ourselves with different ways to throw and catch. It's also a fantastic sport to play and watch!.
